About GO FAME
GO FAME is the Greater Owensboro Chapter of KY FAME (Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education), an Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program adopted from Toyota’s nationally recognized training program. The AMT allows participating students to earn an industry recognized, multi-craft technician degree while gaining valuable experience while working in a manufacturing company.
GO FAME eligibility includes a high school graduate (or equivalent) who is willing to participate in the program’s 40 hour per week, apprenticeship-style format. The individual will attend college two days a week while working three days a week at a sponsoring employer. In as little as 18 months (five semesters), an Associate in Applied Science degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology-Advanced Manufacturing Technician Track Plus will be earned. With the practical skills gained during paid work experience, a full-time job with the sponsoring employer could be obtained or the individual could choose to obtain an engineering degree or other bachelor-level degree.
