What is GO FAME/GO CAREERS?
GO FAME, the Greater Owensboro Chapter of KY FAME, is pleased to announce a new opportunity for employers looking for skilled workers! An affiliate of KY FAME (Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education), GO FAME links employers with outstanding candidates interested in earning a great career and a college degree at the same time, graduating with little or no college debt! Through a “work and earn” model, employers select qualified applicants to participate in an accelerated program where they earn an industry recognized degree while gaining valuable work experience in a manufacturing company.
While GO FAME started with advanced manufacturing, it became evident the model could work in all industry sectors where professional, skilled technicians are required, from healthcare to service-related businesses. Consequently, GO FAME was the first chapter in Kentucky to take this important step and launch GO CAREERS - the first non-manufacturing program in Kentucky that utilizes the GO FAME model to train the next generation of the financial services workforce.
How does the GO FAME program work?
The GO FAME/GO CAREERS program blends classroom instruction with onsite work experience at the sponsoring company. Classes will be offered on-line or at an Owensboro Community and Technical College campus. Students participating in the GO FAME/GO CAREERS Business Administration program option:
